Kashmir package types at a glance
Every Roaming Routes package is built around hotel stays, a private car with driver and planned sightseeing. What changes is the pace, the places and the style of stay. The packages listed on this page fall into these types:
Short breaks (3-4 days): one or two bases, such as Srinagar with a houseboat stay, or a focused Pahalgam valley holiday. Good for a long weekend.
Family (5 days): Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, planned at an easy pace for kids and parents. Our Kashmir with kids and parents guide has more tips.
Honeymoon (5 days): the same three places, planned with couples in mind. Our Kashmir honeymoon planning guide helps you shape the trip.
Classic circuits (6-7 days): the Kashmir Grand Tour adds Sonamarg, and the Complete Kashmir Experience adds Doodhpathri as well.
Mountains (5 days): Gulmarg and Sonamarg for meadows, mountain views and glacier scenery.
Offbeat (5 days): quieter Doodhpathri along with Pahalgam and Srinagar.
Luxury (7 days): a longer trip with premium stays for travellers who want more comfort.
How to choose by days and interests
Start with your days. With 3-4 days, keep to one or two places so you are not in the car all day. Five days usually covers Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam at a comfortable pace. With 6-7 days you can add Sonamarg and Doodhpathri without rushing.
Then think about drive times. Most trips start in Srinagar. Gulmarg is about 50 km away, roughly 1.5-2 hours by road. Pahalgam is about 95 km, roughly 2.5-3 hours, and Sonamarg is about 80 km, roughly 2.5-3 hours. Traffic, roadwork and weather can change these, especially in winter.
Finally, match places to what you enjoy:
Dal Lake, shikara rides and Mughal gardens: Srinagar
Snowy slopes in winter and the gondola: Gulmarg
River valleys and pine forests (Aru, Betaab, Chandanwari): Pahalgam
Your written quote lists exactly what is covered. Most packages include:
Hotel stays for each night, plus a houseboat night where the itinerary has one
A private car with driver for arrival and departure transfers and the planned sightseeing drives
Sightseeing as set out in your day-by-day plan
Meals as stated in your quote
Some things work differently in Kashmir, and it helps to know them early. In Pahalgam, Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari are usually visited in local union taxis rather than your own car. In Gulmarg and Sonamarg, local taxis or ponies are often needed to reach some sightseeing points. These are hired locally, and we explain what to expect before you travel. Flights, Gulmarg gondola tickets and personal expenses are usually not included unless your quote says so.
