Kashmir honeymoon packages usually last 5 to 7 days and cover Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam. A typical plan includes a Dal Lake houseboat night, a sunset shikara ride, a Gulmarg day with the gondola and one or two nights by the Lidder river in Pahalgam, with a private car and driver. Roaming Routes, a J&K Tourism registered agency, plans these trips and sends a written quote.
Prices shown are starting prices, per person on twin sharing unless marked per couple or per group. Your final quote depends on travel dates, hotel category, vehicle and group size.
What a Kashmir honeymoon trip looks like
Many couples spend 5 to 7 days in Kashmir. A typical honeymoon route starts in Srinagar, adds a day in Gulmarg and ends with a slower stay in Pahalgam. Our Kashmir Honeymoon Delight follows this pattern over 5 days and 4 nights. If you have a full week, the 7-day Luxury Kashmir Retreat allows a more relaxed pace. For a short break, the Srinagar City & Houseboat plan stays centred on Srinagar.
Each honeymoon plan we prepare covers:
Hotels and a houseboat night chosen to suit your budget and style
A private car and driver for just the two of you, not a shared coach
A day-by-day sightseeing plan, with free time where you want it
A written quote, so you know what is included before you book
A night on a houseboat is the part many couples remember most. Houseboats on Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake are reached by shikara, and evenings on the water are calm once day visitors leave. Nigeen is generally quieter than the busiest parts of Dal, which suits couples who want privacy.
Plan your shikara ride close to sunset, when the light on the water turns soft. Early risers can take a dawn shikara to the floating vegetable market on Dal Lake. On land, Mughal gardens such as Nishat and Shalimar make an easy afternoon together. Our houseboat and shikara tips explain what to check before you choose a boat.
Gulmarg and Pahalgam at a couple's pace
Gulmarg is about 50 km from Srinagar, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by road. Many couples visit as a day trip, though an overnight stay gives you quiet mornings on the meadow. The Gulmarg Gondola is the main attraction. Tickets are best booked online in advance, as they can sell out in busy months, and the ride can pause in bad weather.
Pahalgam is about 95 km from Srinagar, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by road. It sits along the Lidder river, and a riverside stay is a good place to slow down. We suggest at least one night, ideally two, rather than a rushed day trip. From Pahalgam you can visit Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari. These are usually reached in local union taxis rather than your own car, and ponies are common on some trails, as they are for parts of Gulmarg and Sonamarg sightseeing. We explain how this works when we send your plan.
A few pacing tips for honeymooners:
Follow a long drive with a slow day
Avoid stacking Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam as back-to-back day trips
Keep one afternoon completely free
With a private car, you can stop for photos or a cup of kahwa along the way
March to April: spring blossoms, and Srinagar's tulip garden usually opens for a few weeks in this period
May to June: pleasant days and green meadows, but also among the busiest months, so book early
July to August: lush and green with some showers. Pahalgam gets busier during the annual Amarnath Yatra, so plan ahead
September to November: often clear skies, crisp air and golden chinar leaves later in autumn
December to February: cold, with a good chance of snow in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, though snow on specific dates can never be promised. Roads, especially to Sonamarg, can be affected for a while after heavy snowfall

Five to six days covers Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam without rushing. With seven days you can add Sonamarg or Doodhpathri, or simply spend more slow time in Pahalgam.
Should we stay on a houseboat during our honeymoon?
Many couples choose one night on a houseboat in Srinagar for the experience, then move to hotels for the rest of the trip. If you want more privacy, ask us about a houseboat on Nigeen Lake, which is generally quieter than the busiest parts of Dal.
Is Gulmarg or Pahalgam better for couples?
Gulmarg suits a day of meadows and the gondola ride, while Pahalgam is better for slow, riverside stays. Many couples visit Gulmarg as a day trip from Srinagar and spend one or two nights in Pahalgam.
Will there be snow on our Kashmir honeymoon?
Snow is most likely in Gulmarg and Pahalgam between about December and February, but it depends on each year's weather. No one can promise snow on specific dates, so plan around the season rather than a fixed day.
Do we get a private car for the whole trip?
Yes, our plans use a private car with a driver just for the two of you. For Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari in Pahalgam, and for some sightseeing in Gulmarg and Sonamarg, local union taxis or ponies are usually needed.
