A local office on the road to Pahalgam

Roaming Routes works from an office at Batakote, on the Pahalgam road in Anantnag district, J&K. We are registered with J&K Tourism (Regd. JKEA00002355), and we plan Kashmir holidays with hotels, private cars and drivers, and sightseeing, all set out in a written quote.

Many travellers like to meet the people planning their trip before they confirm anything. You are welcome to visit our office and go through your plan with us face to face. If you are already in the valley, we can also help you plan the days ahead.

What we plan in and around Pahalgam

  • Pahalgam stays: hotels chosen to suit your budget, your group and the kind of stay you want, from rooms near the Lidder river to quieter places away from the main market.
  • Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari: the three classic sightseeing points, each roughly 12 to 16 km from Pahalgam town. Trips to these points usually run in local union taxis rather than your own car, and ponies are common for some walks. We explain how this works before you arrive, so the day runs smoothly.
  • Private car and driver: pickup from Srinagar airport or your hotel, with transfers and sightseeing planned around your days. Pahalgam is about 95 km from Srinagar, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by road. Our guide on how to reach Pahalgam from Srinagar covers the route and common stops on the way, such as Pampore, known for its saffron, and the old temple ruins at Awantipora.
  • A day plan that fits your group: gentler days for elders and small children, more walking for couples and friends.

If Pahalgam is the main reason for your trip, the Pahalgam Valley Holiday is a good starting point, and we can adjust it to your dates.

Full Kashmir trips, not just Pahalgam

Most families want to see more than one place. We plan Kashmir holidays that combine Pahalgam with Dal Lake, houseboats and shikara rides in Srinagar, the meadows of Gulmarg, the river valley at Sonamarg and quieter Doodhpathri. As in Pahalgam, sightseeing in Gulmarg and Sonamarg often needs local union taxis or ponies, and we build that into the plan.

Our itineraries cover family, honeymoon, classic, luxury, short break and offbeat trips. If you want to see the whole valley in one go, the Complete Kashmir Experience brings Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam and Doodhpathri together, and we can shorten or reshape it for you.

Tips for planning your Pahalgam days

  • Give Pahalgam at least two nights, so Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari do not feel rushed.
  • Start sightseeing early in the busy months, when roads and viewpoints get crowded.
  • Carry a warm layer even in summer. Evenings by the river turn cool.
  • Snow at Chandanwari often lasts into early summer, but it changes from year to year, so we never promise snow on a fixed date.
  • During the Amarnath Yatra, usually around July and August, the Chandanwari road gets extra traffic and sightseeing access can change, so we plan your days around it.
